[music |xui xui - a promise]

It's disappointing to see Jim McDermott's name on this list. Later: Nevermind, I remember this, it makes more sense now.

[music |I Try To Live (Can I Live)-Villalobos-Alcachofa]

Finished my first project for DXArts 202 last week. Its available here for viewing. Its rather large (136mb), and I would suggest running it in low quality mode (available with a right-click) for speed improvements. It turned out pretty nice.

This just in: psychoacoustic spatialization rocks (headphones required). (Seriously, how does this sound? The left-right spatialization is great, but the elevation change (below to above) doesn't seem as vivid....)

[music |Vladislav Delay - Viite]

Turned in my final yesterday. It went okay, but the piece was a bit of a hack in a way... its got some great sounds in it, but its pretty one-dimensional. One more to go, and then I am done.

[music |in memoriam gilles deleuze (various artists)]

I will act to suspect the natural sleep functions of my body in order to compose a 5-7 minute piece of music by Monday, 5pm. I did it last quarter and, goddamn it, I can do it again. I have a (rather large) handful of ideas, sounds, and approaches, and 43 more hours.

After that, its Staging A Fire In A School Building, Luomo at Chop Suey, and Spring Break (which involves Jello Shots, Boobs, and Things I'll Regret, if I'm not mistaken).

I make a million mixes these days, so I've been thinking I might start posting a few. Thus:

Over the next 5 days or so (lets say, until Wednesday), please forward me any and all spam you recieve via email. I'm serious, it for a web-based project I'm working on in a class. Amusing/absurd/nearly meaningless spam and junk would be particularly appreciated. In addition to this, unread mailing list / discussion group emails (the ones from that boring list you don't read, and usually just delete periodically) would be useful as well. I'll let all emailers know when my project is put into action. Finally, if you're feeling really generous, go to your internet cache folder (C:\Documents and Settings\default\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files with IE, for example), grab 50 or so of the smallest gif and jpg files (I'm talking 1-4k, tops), throw them in a zip, and send them to me. Thanks.

While working on my final for DXArts 200 tonight... [Dec. 5th, 2003|01:44 am]

[music |Fennesz, Pimmon (Afternoon Tea 1) / The Kinks (Afternoon Tea)]

Exhibit 1: Minimum length 2,500 not 25,000 words.
Exhibit 2: Word count = 3,171 ... Letter count = 15,679
Exhibit 3: My current lack of sleep, general stress level.
Result: 3,171/2500 = +26%, rather than 15679/25000 = -38%
Result (cont'd): I've been working with this misconception since, probably, around 8:00 this evening. I suppose its better than /never/ discovering my wierd mistake. Still, its disconcerting: how did I ever mix these things up so bad?
